Tom McCaslin-Tubist

"Contrary to the tuba's oft-imagined "oom-pah" stigma, the instrument can be as pliable, lyical and musically multi-dimensional as its brass brethren, at least when Tom McCaslin's extraordinary virtuosity and musicianship is concerned." -Gramaphone Magazine

Great web site nephew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tom, I got a chance to hear you play for the first time at SERTEC 2011 at UTC. You were PHENOMENAL!!!! Your artistry and technique set the bar higher than before. There is only a handful of soloists (I mean on one hand) that match your caliber. You are truly an artist musician. Thanks for inspiring me! Tracy M. Luna, Doctoral Asst. Ball State University
I'm a newly reborn Tuba player; that is, I've only recently had the opportunity to start playing again after a 26 year hiatus. Since I'm now obsessed with playing again, and Tubas in general, I found your site through The Tuba News. Your music is wonderful; I wish I had been able to stick with playing all these years. Thank you for sharing some of your music on this website!
Nice website ! We really like the Bartok. Purple is nice.....but GREEN is the colour : ) Go Riders !!!
I bookmarked you :)
The site looks great Tom, and its cool how the music plays while you're on it. Good picture of you...
The site looks gret Tom, and its cool how the music plays while you're on it. Good pictuure of you...
My son Chris Circelli was at West Chester Univ. Brass fest this past weekend. He has your cd and was excited to meet you. We both enjoyed the weekend very much. I want to thank you for your involvement with the students. It means a lot to the young players to learn from the "masters". I know my son will be back next year and also at WCU's music camp this summer. Let us know if you will be back in the Phila. area again. Thank You Chris Circelli (Sr) 570-622-7544 home.
Dear Mister McCaslin, I liked your website and your CD. However you seem to have problem with the formatting of your website. Many of the words are cut off with big lines underneath them. Can you fix? Keep up good work and see you at ITEC!
Great Site Tom I espically love the instant Kiwi add (the memories)
Hi Tom, I am the host for Afternoon Classics on Radio Station KRNN, Juneau, Alaska. It was neat to get your comment on my playing of the Zappa piece on your new CD. I was first drawn to it because I went to High School with Frank. Then, when I heard the piece, I was blown away. Leave it to Frank to make things difficult. Mike Price
Hey Tom. Great site! Let me know when you have the new disc - would love to take a listen! Best, Pat Stuckemeyer

Tom, Bravo on all your recent successes--and a fellow Yamaha guy too. You sound great on the JW And being the ITEA historian is very important too You should be in touch with Ron Davis at USo Car who was a past historian and is doing a book on Hollywood Studio Tuba playing. Many years ago i interviewed for a job at East Carolina--I went instead to the Univ of Tenn for a few years. Best to you, Jim Self
